Solar Scenery
All photographs were taken at the Indian Mesa II (now Desert Sky) wind farm near Iraan, Texas. Mesa (according to Webster’s New Collegiate Dictionary) is defined as: a usually isolated hill having steeply sloping sides and a level top.
Clockwise from upper left:
The sun rises behind two turbines on Indian Mesa.
Low lying morning fog is a frequent occurrence on the mesas in southwest Texas.
Storms move through the area frequently and rapidly.
The view from the top of a nacelle gives a sense of the scale of the development.
Several of the mesas near Indian Mesa also host wind farms.
