Multiple sensors embedded in a bearing not only allow for the collection of accurate information related to the bearing operational state, but may also provide data for fault detection and diagnosis by providing for multi-parameter signal collection. This paper presents a new multiple sensor arrangement that includes two vibration acceleration sensing devices, two speed sensing devices and two temperature sensing devices that more effectively facilitates on-line monitoring of bearing condition. Improved performance for fault diagnosis is proved by comparison with traditional methods of signal collection.
